The kids are going great. Sara Kathryn is well in to her gymnastics season and doing having an awesome season. She was nervous after being out of the gym for 3 weeks following ear surgery. In January she got back in the gym training hard 4 days a week. She even went on Saturdays to work on her bar routine (which is her nemesis). At her first meet in January after surgery she placed in every event and pulled out 1st in the All Around. So incredible. She brought home a huge trophy and a big smile. At the meet this past weekend she nailed her bar routine with a 9.45 and got 1st in bars. Wow. She placed in all events and got silver in the All around with her personal best of 37.25. Jeff and I are so proud of her not because of her scores but because of her hard work and determination. She has learned that hard work pays off.
Macie starts soccer soon and Jeff will once again coach her team. She went to a soccer clinic the other day and said she "rocked it!" In school, her reading and writing have significantly improved after Christmas break. She and Amelia have started taking gymnastics too. Macie is fearless. She scares me to death. She threw a front tuck on the trampoline and had no clue what she was doing. She got up and said "that was cool." Amelia loves her gymnastics class and begs to go every day. She and her buddy Caroline are adorable in their leotards. She thinks she is a big girl now. Bryant stands and watches her begging to go in to "nastics." He wants to participate so bad. He shows off his forward roll and split for everyone and will throw his hands up and say "Salute."
Today I took Bryant to the doctor because he has been running a fever and waking up the past few nights. He said his ear hurt. Sure enough he had a double ear infection. He kepts saying "Momma hold me, hold me." I know he felt terrible. Hopefully he will feel better soon when the antibiotic kicks in. Good news is he weighed 23 lbs today. I can't believe it. He has gained 3 1/2 pounds in 11 weeks since the surgery. He looks so much healthier. We have all adjusted to the feeding tube and now it is almost like second nature. Bryant's feeding therapist has worked hard with him to continue his oral feeding skills. He is still gagging some but not nearly as much as after the surgery. His stomach has gotten used to having a larger amount of food which has helped.
After he returned to preschool in January and we got back on schedule he began to really pick up developmentally. In December we didn't see much progress due to him feeling so awful. In January he learned to count to 20, say ABC's, and learning shapes and colors etc. He loves to pretend play with his sisters. He is always the student when they play school and Amelia is Mrs. Linda. They even make him raise his hand to talk and line up for recess. Hilarious. He takes care of the baby dolls and feeds them a bottle, puts them in the stroller and tells them "night night" with a kiss. Hopefully he will make a good daddy one day. The girls are training him right.
Don't have many pictures to share since life has been low key. Praying it continues...
