3 Months Home

Okay well I am 2 days late but that's what happens when you have 4 kids. Also I almost forgot about the 3 month anniversary because Bryant is doing so well and we are back to living a "normal" life. By normal, which I am laughing when I write this because nothing is ever normal in our house, I mean we are out and about in the world with Bryant. It is so nice especially for me and Amelia who have remained very close to home for 3 months. I was so worried about Bryant when we started venturing out but he has done great. We took him to the church nursery last weekend. I stayed in there with him and my pediatrician happened to be there volunteering. He stuck to me like glue at first but eventually ventured off to play always making sure I was in his sight. He was nervous but did not cry. He handled himself very well. I was so proud of him. My pediatrician was super pleased with how he did and also how fast he is progressing. So if she is happy I am super happy. We have also visited the mall, gym and the grocery store this past week. I am very glad we waited until he felt secure to explore the world. He knows now that if he feels nervous he can come to me or Jeff. He will lean in and give me a kiss, hold his arms up for us to pick him up or try to make eye contact for reassurance. I believe we have built a significant amount of trust which is so important with adopted kids. Consistency and trust are two things that they have not had. We have tried so so hard to give this to Bryant and in return he has showed us love, laughter and much happiness.

He is all boy. He loves outside, exploring and has no fear. This child is the messiest thing. My girls were never this messy. I can't keep him clean. I try so hard but he still eats dirt, smears food in his hair and spills everything on him. I am having to learn not to care because I have driven myself crazy trying to keep him clean. God knew not to give me three boys.

Bryant is a little chatter-box now. Trying to keep up with his sisters. He has around 15 or so words but talks constantly. His favorites are momma, baby, stop, no, and mine. The last three are the most common words used in our household. Ha ha. He also sings "Baby Baby" to his own tune. He loves music and may be the next Justin Bieber. He has started saying "my momma" which I adore. He is now running not walking. Really making progress in all areas of development. I knew the first day I met him he was quick to catch on and he has continued to prove it over and over.

After lots of blood work, tons of doctors appointments and a MRI of his brain the end is almost in sight for Bryant's medical evaluation. We have a urologist and eye doctor appointment next week and we are finished. Yeah. So far all is good and we are so very thankful.

We continue to thank God for the incredible blessing that he has given us. I could not dream of a more perfect gift than Bryant.
