Our family has some exciting news and we are anxious to share it with all of you (if we haven't already). We are in the process of adding a new member to our family. We are adopting a little boy from Moscow, Russia and hopefully soon. After much prayer and consideration we are following God's will and pursuing the adoption of a sweet 8 month old little boy currently living in an orphanage in Moscow. Some of you may think we are crazy (yes 4 kids) but we don't. We have never felt more sure about something in our lives. We know this is God's intention for us. We know our child is in Russia waiting to come home. Jeff & I have been blessed beyond belief. We have three precious little girls and a wonderful life. But we also know why we have these blessings and who gave them to us. We know they are meant to be shared. We know we are meant to share God's love.
We have seen a picture of our little boy's beautiful face and are anxious to bring him home. Little does he know what he has waiting on him. He will have three little mommas (aka big sisters) to love him and baby him not to mention a Daddy and Mommy who will adore him. He will be spoiled rotten. The girls are thrilled and refer to him as "the baby boy" however we will be naming him Bryant. Bryant is Jeff's middle (and family) name and we will be proud to give it to him.
We are heading to Moscow soon. We will meet with the Ministry of Education first. This is when we will receive our invitation to meet our little man. We will stay and visit with him for a few days and return home. We will then wait for a court date and return to Moscow for the official adoption. I still can't believe very soon I will meet my child. It is an exciting yet nervous feeling that I can't quite describe in words. It is very similar to the last weeks of pregnancy and anticipation of birth. I have the same feeling I had before the birth of the girls. My motherly instincts are setting in and I have that longing to hold him, protect him, to provide him with the care/nurturing he needs and to give him the life that he deserves. I truly believe God has handpicked our little boy and for that he will always be special. I believe God's plan is always a perfect plan. He makes no mistakes. And there will be no mistake with the child he chooses for us.
We have a favor to ask from you. We are asking for prayers and lots of them as we embark on this adoption journey. Please pray for our little boy who is lying in a crib awaiting our arrival, for the orphanage workers taking care of him, for the other children who will remain in the orphanage and not have a Mommy, Daddy or a home, for the wonderful agency assisting us, for our safety during travel and for our family. We strongly believe in the power of prayer and the difference it can make. We greatly appreciate your support as you will help us immensely as we complete this adoption. We will continue to update the blog before, during and after we travel so please join us on our journey as we bring Bryant home.
With Love,
Heather & Jeff
